Strongly recommend! Driver met our delayed flight and loaded us into a spotless vehicle for transfer to our hotel. Although we booked a 'shuttlebus transfer' we were given a private transfer. The driver was courteous, informative, and offered a thoughtful introduction to Madeira. My strong recommendation for first-time guests to Madeira to use such a service to transfer to your hotel and give yourself time to become acquainted with the roads and driving in Madeira before you take it on yourself. The roads, hills, and lack of street signs make Madeira a perfect place to let others do the driving, at least until one appreciates what's involved.
